My brother has the classic Nintendo DS, and I have the DS Lite. There are some video games coming out for the new “3DS” and we have been hoping somebody knew if the online games for the 3DS will work for our systems.

No, the 3DS is a completely new handheld. But I’d envision you can engage in DS game titles on the 3DS although.
