I know you can purchase an adapter to transfer facts from a ps1 to a ps3 but can you transfer the other way (ps3 back to ps1)?

I assume you can. Get the adapter like you were speaking about and then go to the sport preserve in the PS3 XMB and press triangle and see if you can duplicate it to the PS1 memory card. I assume you can.
